Combine the theme park and lake
If Gardaland is a fixed part of your camping holiday, a campsite on south-eastern Lake Garda is especially convenient. Short transfers to the theme park can be combined with pools, beaches and relaxed days by the lake.
Choose the location carefully
Gardaland is on the south-eastern side of Lake Garda between Peschiera del Garda and Lazise. If the theme park is a fixed part of your plans, there is little reason to stay on the opposite side of the lake. A campsite in Gasparina, Pacengo or Peschiera can reduce travelling time considerably and make the whole park day easier.
This is particularly useful for families. Instead of starting the morning with a long drive around the lake, the day can begin with much less logistics. After many hours in the park, there is no lengthy return journey either: the pool, lake, restaurant or your own pitch are close by. That combination of a theme park visit and a classic Lake Garda holiday is the main advantage of this area.
Our four recommendations are all in the south-eastern Lake Garda area and offer different strengths. Baia Holiday Gasparina is exceptionally close to Gardaland and directly on the lake. EUROCAMPINGPACENGO combines a 1.5-kilometre distance to the park with direct lake access and several other attractions nearby. Camping Fossalta combines proximity to Gardaland with a direct lakeside location and a quieter, greener camping atmosphere. Campeggio del Garda is a larger four-star lakeside resort and is also very convenient for a theme park day.
What matters
Distance is only part of the decision. The return journey, the family routine and what the campsite offers after the park are just as important.
A campsite in Lazise or Peschiera can be very different in terms of distance from Gardaland depending on its exact position. If the theme park is a priority, compare the campsite itself rather than choosing only by town.
Car, bus, bicycle or another transfer may make sense depending on the campsite. Decide in advance how you will reach the entrance and, just as importantly, how you will get back after a long day rather than solving this in the evening.
A full day at Gardaland is long and intensive. Especially with children, avoid scheduling another major excursion first thing the next morning and use the pool, beach and campsite as a deliberate recovery day.
For a multi-day stay, do not book solely by distance to Gardaland. Direct lake access, Peschiera or Lazise nearby, a pool and food options keep the campsite attractive on every day when you are not visiting a theme park.

Between roller coasters and Lake Garda
The advantage of a nearby campsite is most obvious before and after the actual theme park visit.
No long transfer
When the campsite is only a few kilometres away, the park day starts more calmly. Have breakfast on the pitch or terrace, pack a day bag and head towards the theme park without a long journey, saving energy for the day ahead.
Cool down afterwards
After roller coasters, shows and many hours on your feet, a quiet ending feels good. At a campsite directly on Lake Garda or with a pool, the day can finish with a quick swim rather than a lengthy drive back.
A different pace
A camping holiday should offer more than the theme park. A relaxed walk through Peschiera, along its canals and lakeside promenade, is an ideal contrast to an action-packed Gardaland day.
Before the park day
A few simple preparations keep the theme park visit from becoming a logistical exercise.
Gardaland seasons, opening days and daily hours change through the year. Check the official information for your exact travel date and plan arrival and return transport around it.
Some campsites in the area sell or arrange tickets for local theme parks. Compare the currently available options and conditions before travelling rather than deciding automatically at the park entrance.
Sun protection, water, light clothing and an extra layer for the evening are usually enough. The less you have to carry all day, the more comfortable a long theme park visit becomes.
On a multi-day stay, Gardaland should be a highlight rather than the start of a daily theme park marathon. A complete day by the lake or pool ensures that the holiday still feels like camping on Lake Garda.
Our tip
If the theme park is firmly planned, Gasparina, Pacengo, Lazise and Peschiera are the most logical camping locations. The best campsite is still the one that works after the park closes: with a good pitch or suitable rental unit, pool or lake access, food on site and surroundings that make a free holiday day enjoyable too. This way Gardaland becomes part of the Lake Garda holiday rather than its only purpose.
