Camping between the Rocca and long beaches
Manerba del Garda lies on the southern part of the western shore and feels much greener and more spread out than many well-known resorts in the east. Rather than one compact old town, it consists of several hamlets, bays, harbours and long stretches of shoreline. That suits camping particularly well: many sites sit directly on the water or only a short walk from one of the municipality’s numerous beaches.

Above the lake
The climb to the Rocca quickly leads from the shore into a nature and archaeological area with broad views across Lake Garda. Morning and late afternoon are particularly atmospheric, combining cliffs, Mediterranean vegetation and water.
Small island
Taxi boats run from Porto Torchio to small San Biagio Island, also known as Rabbit Island. Even the short crossing changes the perspective on the Rocca, shoreline and open lake.
Along the water
Romantica Beach is Manerba’s longest and best-known beach. The waterfront towards Porto Torchio is especially pleasant in the evening as the beaches, small venues and boats become quieter and the light over the lake softens.
Plan well
Manerba is more spread out than many Lake Garda towns. The exact shoreline section, mobility and preferred campsite size therefore matter more.
Manerba consists of several hamlets and long shore zones. Check whether your campsite is closer to Romantica and Porto Torchio, towards San Sivino/Zocco or farther north, as distances within the municipality can be longer than expected.
Sivinos focuses primarily on the lake and a quiet atmosphere, while Baia Verde, Zocco and Onda Blu add pools. Families should therefore compare more than simple distance to the water.
The Rocca, Porto Torchio and San Biagio Island are among the most popular local destinations. In high season, an early start is particularly useful if you need to drive to an access point.
The Valtenesi is well suited to cycling and e-biking. Along Romantica Beach, however, local rules restrict bicycles on parts of the waterfront, making walking the better choice there.
